Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Konvertibilna Marka (BAM) = 100 pfenings. Notes are in denominations of BAM 200, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5. Coins are available in denominations of BAM 5, 2 and 1 as well as 50, 20, 10 and 5 pfenings. Most Euro notes - but not coins - are widely accepted.

All major credit cards are widely accepted and ATMs can be found in all urban areas frequented by tourists.

Currency Board keeps Konvertibilna Marka pegged to the Euro. Therefore, the exchange rate between two currencies is fixed at €1.00= BAM 1.95583 since the Euro’s introduction in 1999.
